Quiet Power Supply
Very happy with this generator. Remote works well over a long distance. When on a 25m extension lead, you can just hear this operating. Only negative would be not having a fuel gauge but I guess I'll know when it runs out!

Warning re fuel left in generator tank
I have owned one of these generators for nearly 2 years and have run it for about 50 hours in total. I drain the carb after each use. Today I drained all the fuel from the tank with a syphon pump and was astounded to see the inside of the fuel VERY rusty. Probably limited life left in it! BE AWARE!

Great Genny
Connected generator to our house to test and run in. Ran for 3 hours with no issues, starts straight up every time. Remote is awesome, had the generator at the very back of our section and could start/stop from the front of out house 30m away. Pretty quiet, get bassy when some load comes on but to be expected.
Two in parallel 7.5kW
I bought two of these as back up for the beach house. When we had the house built I had a 32A generator socket installed with a changeover switch. Running two in parallel I can power the whole house with a 32A cable connecting the generators to the house. Works well and with about 7.5kW continuous power available most things can run as normal. To run them in parallel I bought a Champion parallel connector box which came with a PDL type 56 32A socket instead of the Newman one. Very happy with the setup and the house all runs well. Most importantly the water pump from our tanks works and the generators in parallel hardly flinch when these bigger loads turn on. Electric start is excellent.
Great value
I picked this up from Trade Tested about a month ago but didn't intend using until later this year when we build our bach on Great Barrier. However we had a power outage in Auckland a few days after picking it up. So I put petrol and oil into it, connected the battery and it started straight away. We used it for about 3 hours and put it back in the box.
Solid Product
We bought this for powering a tiny home in the event of power failure. Started first time, runs well, simple, easy to use. Seems like a good product.
Standby Generator
I've had this unit for 5 weeks now as the cornerstone of my emergency kit. It performs as advertised and starts immediately every two weeks for a 20 minute run as per the maintenance instructions. The User Manual lets the product down. It seriously needs updating as the pictures reflect an earlier model quite different than the one supplied. Clearer pictures would also be an advantage. I have a mechanical and technical background and could deduce from what I saw to be able to prepare the generator for use. The current manual assumes a level of knowledge that many potential users do not have. I would also suggest the manual be upgraded with more information about using the unit; especially in an emergency. Users seriously don't need to be struggling with the manual by torchlight when they are in an emergency situation. Revision of the manual would enhance the ownership experience of a fine unit.
Good quality and value generator
Have now bought 2 of these as emergency back up generators for us and family. They are easy to set up and operate with nice instruction on the unit for anyone being thrown in to use it in emergency. Easy remote start and stop system works really well. My daughter used it for a couple of months as a regular back up for their full house off-grid solar system while their diesel genset was out of action, and it served that more regular duty well. With electric / remote start, pure sine wave output, good capacity and great value is its way better than the previous 2kW manual start units we have used in past and not much higher cost. Just really need 2 people to lift into a vehicle.
Brilliant piece of kit
I am thrilled with my purchase. It is an excellent addition to my power options in our remote location. Our main source is a 6kW microhydro generator. I also have a 10kW PTO generator, a 10kW diesel genset, an ancient 3kW diesel generator, and a cheap 5kW multifuel genset. An issue I have had with all these systems is that the power has been “dirty”, and electronic tools and appliances don’t like it. E.g., my Dremel won’t work properly with the hydro power, so I have had to use a deep-cycle battery and a pure sine wave inverter to run it. But the new Newman is awesome! Quiet, compact, and clean power. The remote start is so convenient and fun to use too! And truly portable. I will be using it as stand-alone power for power tools (band saw, planer, router, thicknesser, etc.) in my workshop. Plus it will be able to quickly fill in when the hydro needs to be turned off at night due to lack of water. The only suggestion that I have is that it should have larger diameter wheels and more ground clearance. It is fine for flat surfaces, but over grass, gravel or especially a wood-chip floor, it drags badly over the surface.

Great machine!
Have used this generator for 3 days so far during extended power cuts and very impressed. No more repeated pulling on a start cord - one press of the start button and it is away. Good generous output. Easy to shift around with wheels.
Good value generator
Easy to set up, not overly noisy and the wheels/compactness make it convenient to move around. Good value given the various features included which are normally found only on more expensive generators.

I was a little wary because I have always bought Honda motors. But the price and warranty sold me. I am so pleased. I depend on this generator every day and it has been flawless. One annoyance: it doesn’t have a fuel gauge. Rodney

Fantasic Generator with heaps of features
Got this after cyclone Gabrielle and living rural, I have used this generator for many hours to power fridges, broadband and even my tv and home theatre system (at separate times) during a prolonged outage. Great unit that doesn't fry computers. Never has issues starting and fires up quickly. It has a remote start feature with an included remote and a pullstart and battery start options also, It has 2x 230v outlets as well as a cigarette lighter-type 12v socket. The only issue is I wish there was a fuel level gauge but apart from that it's a perfect home generator for much less cost than some of the main brands with heaps of features and is well built.. Make sure you get some 10w-30 oil as it doesn't come with any.
Easiest Generator to Use
Unbelievably easy to use . Terrific to have 3 x options as to how you want to start the Generator . My Wife loves the Remote style of starting . Not overly noisy when running . Large Fuel Tank is a bonus when you have the House Power supply drop out through Cars taking a sharp corner too fast, about a kilometer from where we live , and running into a Power Pole with the Transformer on it . Quite common to have the Power out for 6 - 8 hours . So the Generator is a God Send to keep our Water Pump going , Toilets flushing , Showers available and Taps running while the Power Company is busy putting another Pole in . After losing our Power to the House 3 times over the last 9 months, and all in the same circumstances , it is a blessing to have the Newman Generator available to give us Power to run the basics . Would thoroughly recommend this Generator.

Brilliant
An excellent portable/luggable generator. At 94Kg it's fine on solid ground but gets interesting to move on soft or sloping terrain. Well made and good quality with everything needed in the box including the plug for a power supply to a caravan or house. Not a pure sine generator but maintains a stable voltage under variable loads.
Great little generator
Really happy with this purchase. I wanted a back-up power supply for our home and as long as I'm careful with the load I'll be able to pretty much keep the house running as normal.... including fridge/freezer, heat pump etc. Electric start is a real bonus too !
Newman Generator
Had a 3500w older generator pry to purchasing my new one and it struggled on some jobs the Newman Generator 6500w rocks even runs my arc welder without breaking a sweat very happy recommended great value.

Almost great.
We ran the generator in yesterday and about 2 hours in the ac plugs stopped working. We tried to shut the generator down to reset them but found we couldn't. The start stop switch is faulty. We were still able to run it in for 5 hours and were able to reset the ac sockets without shutting the generator off. To shut it down we had to switch the fuel supply off and let it choke. On the plus side it did start first time and everything ran perfectly except the on off switch. We will get an electrician to fix it. I would have given this generator five stars were it not for the faulty switch.
